Fourth and 8 at K’s 32. During K-1’s punt, R-2 illegally contacts K-2 at R’s 6. R-1 catches the kick at R’s 12, flag guards at R’s 18, and is deflagged at R’s 28. K accepts whichever R foul gives K the better result.
This is a multiple foul by R, so K may select only one live-ball penalty. R-2’s foul qualifies for post-scrimmage kick enforcement and occurred behind the PSK spot of R’s 12, so its 10-yard penalty is enforced half the distance from R’s 6 to R’s 3, resulting in 1st and 17. If K instead selects flag guarding, enforce 10 yards from R’s 18 to R’s 8, resulting in 1st and 12. K will choose R-2’s illegal contact. The final result is R’s ball, 1st and 17 at R’s 3.
